Work Sucks
I know. Sucky title. Sue me.
It's not even 9:30 in the morning, I've been out the past two nights with friends and alcohol, and I'm on day three of early-as-fuck classes.
Oy.
Welcome to my new readers. Trolls will be banned, Snark is always appreciated, and if you piss me off too much you will be exposed for the moron you are. Have fun, laugh, explore, and feel free to make fun of me and my odd obsessions.

Does This Mean I'm Leia?
I'm the newest author over on The Hidden Rebel Base, a site for all things anti-Yankee. I also appear to be the first female.
Oh no...Don't tell me I have to wear those weird donut hair thingies?
UPDATE: Oops. I wasn't paying enough attention. =) Sorry Red

Blackout
No one, not the media, and not the major bloggers, are talking about the anniversary of Columbine.
I'm very disturbed by this. Especially considering my own experience with it.
UPDATE: Link fixed now. Not that you couldn't have found it by reading through past entries. I don't have all that many, after all.

You heard it here first
A new pope has been elected.
Hopefully this signals something good for the Church.
I doubt it.

The World Really Does Hate Us
The U.S. bishops have also expressed "deep regret for the pain that others have experienced" because of actions taken that led to Robinson's consecration.
The fact that the US has pulled out of the International Anglican Conference because the leaders of the American church are idiots upsets me to no end.
Not only do I have a family member who works for the church as an office manager, I have numerous connections to Gene. He is a wonderful person. No one could have been a better match for this position. Why is who he shares a bed with an issue? Often, when one has an aspect to their lives which does not follow international "norms", one is ostracized.
Oh look. I just described America as a country.
Blech.
More to come, but right now I have to go pick someone up at the airport.
This is a discussion that will continue at some point. I have a lot to say about it, as well as other political points.

Gotta love those idiots
Boston Red Sox Batting Coach Ron Johnson ejected by HP umpire Greg Gibson.
Directly from MLB.com.
5-4 in the 4th.
They're killing me.
And now Francona has been ejected.
Wonderful.
LATER:
This game is fucking wild.
That was one amazing smack that Sheffield took.

Maybe I Should Call This Category "Obsession"
Kill me.
This is painful. Was supposed to be Schilling's great return to Fenway.
Ow...

Hoping Beyond Hope
Shush. It's Yankees@Fenway. I'm gonna obsess.
3-1 pitch to Ortiz, bases loaded.
He swings.
Line drive to Matsui. Caught.

The Realization of a Dream
The home of a defending world champion - Boston Red Sox!
Best phrase ever.
OPENING DAY!!!!!!!
The opening day people have been waiting for for 86 years.
Doesn't get better than this.
Presentation of rings...I never thought I'd see this day. The Yankees playing in Fenway under a WS banner.
Not sure I could be happier than right now.
1903
1912
1913
1916
1918
and over them all...
2004.
This is just beautiful. And the military men and women are probably all Sox fans.
Oh just look at that gorgeous pile of boxes.
LETS GO RED SOX!
That's the cool thing about Fenway. You can hear not only the announcers, the music, and the banging on walls, but the chanting.
The presentation of rings! *squeal*
I love that the POPS and the BSO are the ones providing the music. The choice of songs are just brilliant. 2001, Impossible Dream...
And look. They get a red carpet.
I really can't believe I'm watching this.
And it's such a perfect day. So beautiful. The sun is just gleaming on the grass.
And of course to have this in front of the Yankees...We couldn't ask for anything better.
Wow. The cheers really pick up for Varitek. And they go wild for Lowe.
There will never be a greater day in Boston. Nothing beats this.
And up comes Jesus. The crowd goes insane.
For Big Papi, what else but Star Wars.
The Darkside has been vanquished.
God I wish I was there. Imagine having seats right above The Dugout.
Who woulda guessed that Bellhorn would be our saving grace?
Wow. A number of faces or names I don't really recognize. So far, no Nomar. Wonder if he's getting a ring?
Is that someone accepting for Martinez? Why the fuck are people booing?
Where'd they trade Leskanic to? Wasn't paying enough attention in the offseason.
And here comes the MAN! Schilling! I'd love to meet him someday. He is a GOD among men.
The Sox really are a team. Everyone provided something to the win. How often do you see that...
The music is just spectacular. I worship at Boston's feet. Fenway, the POPS, the Sox, the people, the fans...
Aaaaah.
Hm...I think that's the doctor...the true hero of WS04.
And a shot of the greatest chokers in baseball history.
Holy fucking shit. Pesky has a ring.
You really cannot get any nicer than that.
Pesky. Don't think he was even born the last time the Sox won.
I am in thorough awe right now. That ceremony has been long awaited, and to see the field of red and white moving through Fenway, celebrating...Oh My God...all these old players...
You can't have a WS celebration without them.
And there goes the banner. The real banner. And it's Pesky who raises it. With Yestremski
I'm trying to imagine what it would be like to sit on the Green Monster, watching that banner go up.
And so the season begins.
By battling our historic rivals...
HOLY FUCKING SHIT!!!! They're all cheering Mariano!!!!! You really...I'm not gonna say it again. You all know what I'm going to say.
Oh, and michele, EAT MY SHORTS!
Other Sox celebrations:
Oh, and bottom of the 3rd, 4-0 Sox.

Sigh
I wish I had tickets to tomorrow's opening day game.
The banner, the ceremony...
Though after today, they had better pull something off tomorrow. Otherwise they're going to have a lot of disappointed fans.
Like me.
4-3. 4-fucking-3. Where's Pedro when we need him?
Oh. Right. Over at the Mets, saving their ass from a 0-6 losing streak.
Sigh.

7-3, Baybeeee!
Mariano will not last the season.

Yankees SUCK
The title says it all.
Though Mariano really failed. Again. Totally blew it.
Not like the Sox closer is any better. Giving up that run...It killed me.
Hopefully I'll get to go to one of the Fenway games next week. I'd really enjoy that.
I swear...If the Sox don't get another Series in 80 years, I'll start throwing things.

Birthdays and Getting Older
It was one of the more interesting birthday parties I went to. There are many pictures, some of which might be somewhat embarrassing to certain parties.
Yes, they will all be posted. As soon as I get them off my camera.
I may or may not name all the parties involved, although I can say that the other author on this blog was there, and succeeded in the game of "throw bits of napkin down kat's shirt".
She won, the guys didn't. Then it turned into a full-fledged war. Not sure who won that, but it kicked ass. And we didn't get kicked out of the bar.
Oh yeah. We were drunk. Good times, my friends, good times.

Opening....Night?
How is this possible? Not only is it raining for the first Sox game of the season (granted, away, but I can deal with that for the moment), but they're playing the Yankees.
Wait...What? And it's at night? This makes no sense.
I'm going to stick my head in the sand for the next week.
If only I'd thought of it, I would have bought tickets to Opening Day in Boston. I'll be there anyway, shoulda just gone ahead and gotten them.
Maybe I'll find a good bar.
I love my team. Now someone confirm for me that they're having the banner-raising, WS celebration they deserve. Even though it's against the Yankees. Maybe because it's against the Yankees.

Incomprehensable Religion
It amazes me that a religion which puts so much emphasis on spirit, soul, and afterlife, displays their leader's body for all to fawn over.
Yet another example of why I have nothing to do with The Church.

A Passing is Always Mourned
There are few deaths which pass without at least a moment of sadness. The Pope garnered a bit more than a moment, mostly out of respect (on my part) for my RC family.
Terri Schiavo, however, produced in me nothing but a feeling of relief. It's over, I don't have to listen to the two warring sides bitch at each other anymore. There's a reason I haven't posted about the whole situation, mostly because I refuse to give it any more publicity than it deserves. Which is none. It's a private matter and a private conflict and the media should never have gotten involved.
