Why would TNT think this was a good day to air this?!

THIS IS REALLY FUCKING PISSING ME OFF.

At 7:50 pm on Sunday, September 11th, 2005, TNT played a commercial which claimed that bombs were placed inside the towers.

The url for this organization is reopen911.org. I refuse to provide a link. Go find it for yourself.

How in fucking hell could a tv station agree to air something that offensive on this of all days.

I'm still working on my 9/11 post, just because it's very emotional and I have trouble working on more than a bit at a time.

Things like that only make it worse.

I don't know if this is airing anywhere outside of NYC, and I hope it is, because sadly that might be the only way these people will be laughed out of business.

Directly from the website:

I had believed the administration’s conspiracy theory that 19 terrorists had attacked us. I thought that perhaps the military had screwed up royally. I am now convinced that it is the Bush administration’s “conspiracy theory” that is absurd; that 19 screw-ups, who couldn’t do anything right, somehow defeated the entire US Air Force, CIA, FBI, NSA, and multiple airport security screenings.

The site also calls Giuliani a "murderer" and claims the 7/7 attacks in London were impossible.

What really scares me though, is that the way they couch their information sounds almost rational. Most of these crackpots can be dismissed because what they sell sounds so idiotic. These crackpots offer facts very carefully, in such a way as to make them sound scientific, and tie reliable quotes from reliable sources to bizzare conclusions that have been extrapolated from sensible ideas.

If they have enough money to run a commercial in NYC on 9/11, what else do they have money for?

UPDATE: Barry reports that it's on CNN Headline News as well.

Turner-owned stations are the devil.

I was fortunate enough NOT to be watching TNT today, but I am floored by what I am reading at that site. So wrong. So disrespectful to those who died.

Posted by: Daria at September 11, 2005 08:56 PM

Every television channel that had some kind of September 11th-related programming had those awful commercials.

I too would like to know how this group got the millions of dollars required to run those ads. I'm sure we're only 2-3 degrees of separation from George Soros, MoveOn.org and/or the Ford Foundation.

The History Channel aired the same commercial during a program about 9/11. I almost threw up.

I wouldn't worry about that site swaying anyone but the biggest of rubes.

Case-in-point: It makes the claim that a force that could pulverize concrete would also have to be great enough to tear or twist steel.

Tell that one to a stonecutter, or to an inmate who has broken boulders with a sledge at Levinworth. (sp?)

You guys need to remember that the local cable providers sell advertising on these stations as well. You may be seeing an add that is being run by your cable provider and it may not be related to TNT or CNN. Even these stations are not that stupid. (I hope.)

What surprises me is your surprise

Posted by: Pamela at September 12, 2005 12:34 PM

They should reopen 9-11 investigations. So that the country can see the gross negligence of Clinton-Gorelick-Freeh-Reno in stopping Atta, whom they knew to be running loose in the US.

Oh, and to document Atta's links to Iraqi government operatives.

Some Turner-owned stations may well be the devil, but allow me to speak up for Turner Classic Movies, which doesn't carry external commercials and without which TV would truly be nothing but a vast wasteland.

But otherwise, your point is taken....

Posted by: arminius at September 12, 2005 01:02 PM

Sorry to disappoint, but Turner owns nothing but stock in AOL Time Warner -- now just called Time Warner.

Posted by: smschaef at September 12, 2005 01:36 PM

Not surprised since just about everyone at CNN has BDS and the defintely deranged Ted Turner is their idol! Boy am I glad that I only have the local channels on cable . None of my cable bill goes to CNN. But I need to seriously think about switching to DSL as I believe my cable company owns CNN :(

just say:

"thanks,i'll have a big plate of taqiyya,
with fries on the side,
and hold the taqiyya."

remember Occam's Razor and not Atta's.

i just read enough of several articles/postings to
get a quick feel for the emotional environment:

those people wallow in death and atrocities all day long/every day/everywhere.

as obsessed with death as the jihadis.

depressed.
powerless.
angry,depressed,and powerless.

since THEY can't "control it",SOMEBODY must be responsible...somebody must be culpable.

how could you NOT hunt for someone to hate
and denigrate?

Posted by: gumshoe [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 12, 2005 02:25 PM

Is it still a betrayl of the victims if it turns out to be true? It seems to me that even it it doesn't, the search for the truth only honors those who died. Why is it that we are expected to know all the answers to this atrocity immediatley and rebuke others so aggresively who seek out alternative perspectives?

Posted by: B at September 12, 2005 03:04 PM

That commercial is really sick. Believe it or not, they are airing this commercial in Europe! I am here in Holland, and they aired the commercial on RTL5, SBS6 and other TV stations. I would love to meet these sick maggots and stomp them into the ground.

Posted by: Marc Comvalius at September 12, 2005 04:06 PM

Not that it matters a lot, but these aren't Turner owned stations anymore. They're Time Warner, and have been for some time.

That doesn't excuse anything. I only say it so that we understand the problem is bigger than The Mouth Of The South.

Posted by: Pablo at September 12, 2005 04:39 PM

Don't forget TNT is Mr Hanoi Jane. Have been wondering why she hasn't shown her ugly mug in NO to thump her Bush Bashing rhetoric. Maybe she'll have the Sheehan shedevil by her side when she does...gaaaah this makes me sick!!!!

Posted by: Rhainedancer at September 12, 2005 05:43 PM

The turner Network -

Why should I be surprised that this nonsense is being aired by turner? It has been widely reported that he once stooped so low as to paint swastikas on the dorm room doors of his Jewish classmates at Brown. Even as a teenager I realized that the man was full of it, I've long said that if turner sr. hadn't given turner jr. his sizable allowance, jr. would've spent his life pumping gas in rural Ga.

What I find so reprehensible are those who cannot look at evidence and plausible theory as part of an aspect of disclosure. Given the facts, this is true: 3000+ people died on 911. Two aircraft crashed into the world trade towers and something slammed into the Pentagon. Another aircraft crashed in a field and so on. FEMA was in NYC the day before 911. There was a war game going on that day. The president knew of the first aircraft at the WTC before he stepped into that classroom that morning, but he lied when he recounted when he saw the first aircraft hit the WTC because at that time, there was no TV footage as attested days later – but first he made a joke to lighten the mood. There were radiation levels higher than the background monitored at the Pentagon after whatever struck that building. There was no aircraft debris found at the Pentagon suggestive of a 757, but the engine recovered was matched to one that the US uses in their Drone aircraft. Eyewitnesses at the WTC just before the first tower collapsed said they were blown over by an explosion coming from the sub-levels. The Janitors on hand that morning reported an explosion in the basement levels just as the first plane hit, one was badly burned. Close examination of the TV footage of the day, one from a CNN sponsored video showed the nose cone of the second 757 exploding just before it hit the north tower, and then an engine shot out the backside of the tower. Under closer scrutiny it appears that it was not one used on that version of a 757, but rather a 727 engine made by Pratt and Whitney. This was determined from photographic evidence taken at the time after it was roped off by police. The implosion of both WTC’s is indicative of a low yield nuclear device, but it also appears that the top floors were detonated as in a controlled manner, as well as Tower 7. No steel framed building has ever collapsed as a result of fire. Looking at seismic date from that morning, something detonated just before both trade towers shook, and within 10 seconds, they lay in a heap of pulverized rubble. The EMP from the blast knocked out mobile phone coverage. Oh I could go on and on people of the US, but you have been lied to and your boys are now dying in Iraq over this 'FALSE FLAG'. They are counting on you to be patriotic and to swallow this hook, line and sinker. When will you all wake up and begin to reason for yourselves rather than believe everything you are told by your leaders? What’s at stake is more than your constitution. I am sure that no one at CNN was trying to be disrespectful to the families and people who lost loved ones that day when they aired that show on the anniversary of 911; you just took it that way as a patriotic sheep would… that’s all. CNN didn't betray you all but The Bush and those in the Pentagon administration did.

gumshoe (that's a French name, isn't it?) I'm trying to understand your point of view, but I find it impossible to stick my head as far up my ass as yours must be to actually believe that steaming load of 100% pure bullshit. Communist/Islamofascist tool...

I make it a policy to not remove comments without warning to the poster. I know they're moonbats, but they provide some fun for me and some talking points for a discussion.

Generally, I don't like to delete or replace comments unless they are spam, nonsensical, or just really really piss me off.

So far, no one has done that.

Yet.

Spears,

Wonderful post. Before today, I didn't think it possible to compose such a long piece that basically says nothing. Bravo.

I did get a kick out of one sentence: "When will you all wake up and begin to reason for yourselves rather than believe everything you are told by your leaders?"

Dude, that's the funniest thing I've read this month. Is this a line from an "X-Files" episode? If not, it surely could have been.

Cheers

Casey,

You obviously have not watched the documentaries broadcast by National Geographic and the History Channel reporting on the planning of this atrocity by Bin Laden and the rest of Al Queda. Nor do you believe the videotapes of Bin Laden’s admission to this crime and planning for more crimes.

If you wish to continue to believe that our government is responsible for all horror and terrorist attacks, God help you. You have no hope or faith. My suggestion is moving to Syria, Iran, or any of the other countries that you believe will make sure that these types of attacks do not happen to you.

If all of what you list is true, why has it not been pressured by the Democratic Party to investigate? The case you make is that there is overwhelming evidence of a cover-up/conspiracy, and warrants pressure on your elected officials to investigate. Otherwise, if you are going to make these allegations, make sure you provide PURE documentation (copies of seismographic charts, etc.) to prove them.

I, myself, seen several videotapes of two planes that flew into the buildings that later fell. There is plenty of PURE and HARD evidence of what we witnessed, two planes flown into two buildings, which later collapsed, and leaders of an Islamic militant party taking credit for the act.

Dear Kat,

I have encountered this phenomenon more and more frequently: People with minds so clouded with hatred, that they are blind to truth. Facts are entirely irrelevant to them. They believe anything which fits into the sick agenda with which they are obsessed.

The really disturbing thing is that nearly all the MSM is now in cahoots with the crazies. Look at the shameful end to dan rather’s career. Apparently Fox News and the WSJ are about the only news agencies which have retained an iota of credibility. And thank heavens for blogs like this.

No wonder the others in the MSM are fading fast--rapidly losing readers and viewers. They have abandoned a once proud tradition of relentlessly discovering truth, in order to pursue their own twisted, leftist agendas.

Uh-huh.

OK.

Did we forget our meds today?

I find it more telling that the liberals comment, then run away before anyone responds to them.

They yell, without substance, and chant slogans that have no meaning while holding signs with incomprehensible pictograms.

Always remember, Ted Turner is a nut job. He probably bought into this crackpot theory hook, line, and sinker.

Posted by: Kevers at September 14, 2005 08:40 AM

Instead of being outraged i would suggest doing alot more research on this subject, not one person
who is shocked by this news has actually offered
one shred of evidence to discredit this version of events, strangely enough quite a few respectable
leaders in certain areas of construction and destruction have given irifutable factual information that while not being able to prove
who actually was the culp[rit, can without any doubt with sound meturologic facts prove that the
official version of why the towers folded in the
way they did was a total fairytale,i would of thought that at least would be obvious to all.It was not the heat from raging fires that melted steel girders Ill leave it there forget it and regret it STINKY

Dear Kat,

I think ppl are getting confused about who posted what. Could you put our names within the box that we posted. It looks like someone else said what the idiot Spears said and so on.
I'll take credit for reminding ppl that he was once Hanoi Jane and didn't know about the swastika's but it looks like the swastika item was mine.
We all want to be clear it was SPEARS, that needs to check himself into the Betty Ford Clinic to get detoxed from his koolaid sipping and maybe clear his mind of the idiotic skits that you know who is resposible for. I refuse to name that man or use his organization b/c I'm sure he's figured out a way to get a royalty from someplace when we use his name.
Thanks alot Kat and keep up the GREAT job here.
