A big FUCK YOU to everyone who said "Saddam didn't have WMD"
Commenting on Saddam's enriched uranium stash after the U.S. Energy Department removed it to Oak Ridge, Tenn., in June 2004, top physicist Ivan Oelrich told the Associated Press:"[Saddam's] 1.95 tons of low-enriched uranium could be used to produce enough highly enriched uranium to make a single nuclear bomb."
Oh, ladies and gentlemen, THAT'S NOT ALL...
In a March 2003 op-ed piece for London's Evening Standard, Norman Dombey, professor of theoretical physics at the University of Sussex, calculated that Saddam's yellowcake could have yielded a staggering nuclear arsenal."You have a warehouse containing 500 tons of natural uranium," Dombey wrote. "You need 25 kilograms of U235 to build one weapon. How many nuclear weapons can you build?
"The answer is 142 [nuclear bombs]
No WMD's, huh?
(Thank you, Ace. Although I noticed that the story about MDMA talked about abuse, not moderate use. Abuse of anything will fuck with your brain.)

What was in the dossier? 45 minute striking of WMD's? Though I assume that includes the time taken to enrich said uranium? and that the ability to do so was available?
Shifting the goalposts a little aren't we... clutching at straws?
Then again, WoMoID's *were* used by the US in Iraq. Chemical, radiological and indiscriminate weapons were all used.
One thing I will say with a sigh of relief - thank goodness your Admin et al has moved away from the "Tactical Nuclear Weapons".

It's very simple.
1. Were there WMD's.
2. Would Saddam use them.
The answer to both is a resounding yes.
I read an analysis a few weeks back (couple months? Not sure.) discussing how an animal, when cornered, will fight with no regard for strategy, simply trying to cause as much damage as possible.
That is what the terrorists in Iraq are doing now. They are overwhelmingly not Iraqi, and they are simply blowing up places where they believe foreigners to be. The same phenomenon is in Israel right now, with the Palestinians running willy-nilly to destroy anything Israeli in Gaza. The Gaza strip is considered to be in anarchy right now, held in check only by the efforts of the IDF.
My point is simply this: Saddam had WMD's. See? They exist. Now shut up about him not having them, because HE HAD THEM.
Got it? Or do I need to make it even more painfully clear?

So... let me just theorise this one step further. Why didn't Isreal use their nuclear arsenal to take out said animal and why were they not the original nation pushing for Iraq to be taken out, since they'd be in the firing line first?
There were no WoMoID's in Iraq at the time - there were only the raw ingredients. No different to having the base chemicals in areas where the use can be questioned. There is a difference there. That is called _shifting the goalposts_. Had he had them, he would undoubtably have tried to "cause as much damage as possible" "with no regard for strategy". Yet we did not see WoMoID's being used by any nation in that war bar the USA through the use of Napalm Mach II (same stuff, new name... wouldn't want to tell a lie to the Brits over its use you see), white phosphorous weaponry or cluster bombs (read up on the WoMoID treaty - both mass and indiscriminate destructive weapons are treated together). By your own admission had he had them he would have used them, yet by not using them, he could not have them in a usable form.
